I recently met a woman known as Hazel. I met her in msn games, playing checkers as I sometimes do hang out with people I don't know on the net. Well we had an open and interesting conversation and it seemed I could tell her anything. After about four checker games with her, we decided to talk on MSN messanger.
We talked for hours very personally till the time came that I began thinking that she could help me with my needs. I told her that my parents don't really trust me. I told her that my parents probably didn't trust me because I talk back sometimes, the way my friends dress, my bad grades, my bad cleaning habits, not hanging out with friends often, and my music. She told me that in order for her to give advice to me, she needed to know that I wouldn't take it in a bad way when she told me things because she will not tell me what I want to hear. Only what I had to hear.
She told me that in order to get trusted my parents I had to do the following things.
1. Grades come first. She told me I had no excuse for my grades to be so low. As long as I study, my grades should be no problem. (( I think... Especially with the way our schools are, they make it kind of easy for us.))

2. When my parents tell me to do something like my chores, or ask me a simple favor... just do it. Its not like I won't have to do it later. Just get it over with and don't complain.

3. She told me that acting like a three year old and talking back only makes them(my parents) treat me like a three year old. Being treated like a three year old isn't a good way to the road of being trusted. Do what they tell you even if you don't agree. Just trust in what they say and they will trust what you say. They might not always agree either.

4. For my friends, she said just have them come over my house when my parents are around. Make my parents see that they are actually good people and the way they dress is just fashion. Just have them come over a lot and they will eventually trust my friends well enough to not have my hand in theirs when I want to hang out.

5. For music... I think she said that my parents just need to learn and respect that I am my own person and I like what I like.

She had very good advice. Our conversation went beyond that, but yeah. She is just the older sister I never had. I just need to keep those things in mind and maybe if I am trusted enough, I can go to concerts, otakon, and maybe even more? I definantly hope so.. they need to let me go sometime.
